But beware, because it is possible to lose a lot of money too.

So if you are new to forex investing, what are some of the things you should be aware of before risking any of your hard-earned cash?

Well, first of all, decide how much money you are prepared to risk. How much could you safely afford to lose without it adversely affecting you? Once you have worked out that figure, that is the amount that you should deposit in you forex trading account and no more. If you end up losing that whole amount, you should take a break from the forex market because it might not be the right market for you.

Ok, so you have some cash set aside, what you now need to do is to set up a broker forex account. This is something that requires a fair amount of thought and research, because there are so many brokers out there who offer forex trading accounts. The question is, how do you decide which is the right one for you? You need to ask yourself the following questions.

Do you know anyone already trading forex successfully? If so, which broker do they use?

Do you already have a broker account for trading the stock market? If so, does that broker offer forex trading facilities?

Do you want a broker who can provide you with forex trading software or will you use a commercial forex trading package or Internet-based tools?

What time of day/night will you be trading and where will you be trading from? You need a broker who can service you at those times and who can give you the appropriate access to the markets.

Finally, once you are ready to trade, be aware that the markets can move very quickly and a winning position can turn bad before you know it. So trade with discipline and always have an exit plan!
