Phoenix Activities And Nearby Attractions

If you have never visited Phoenix, Arizona between the months of October and April, I suggest planning ahead to do it this year. If you are an active person, the city not only has weather in which you can get outdoors easily in January, it also has spectacular landscapes that will turn your round of golf into a lot more than just aiming for par. In addition, virtually anything that the short-term tourist requires for an enjoyable visit to a city is available here too: shopping, nightlife, outstanding regional cuisine, and proximity to interesting sites that are less than a day’s drive away from Phoenix.

On the last point, I’d recommend seizing the opportunity to see the Grand Canyon if you’ve never done so. It’s only about five hours by car north of Phoenix; the roads are good and the landscape is spectacular well before you reach the Canyon. This is one of the natural wonders of the world and will not fail to live up to your expectations.

Once back in Phoenix head over to Papago park for a mountain bike ride or a hike through this expansive park. It’s a great way to see the desert landscape up close and you’ll be surprised at how comfortable the temperatures are in the winter months especially.

Obviously golfing in Phoenix is a huge attraction as well, and you could easily build a week’s visit to the city around playing seven different outstanding golf courses each day, and be virtually assured of good weather during your stay.

This is the USA’s sixth largest city, and as large as Phoenix is the traffic can be bad. Finding yourself a Phoenix cheap hotel near a freeway exit won’t be difficult though, and you’ll be happy to find that prices for accommodations here are noticeably lower than those of similar hotel rooms in LA or on the East Coast. Phoenix is a vastly underrated tourist destination; come visit in the cooler months so you can brag to your friends about seeing all that they are missing.
