Finding a Good Time Warner Deal

If you live in one of the areas served by Time Warner, you probably already know that they are one of the more expensive cable companies out there today.  But with increased competition from satellite TV and new offers like Verizon Fios, there is a good chance that you can still get a pretty good deal if you prefer to have cable service.

The better Time Warner deals are usually found for new customers, so if you are an existing  cable customer you may not be able to find as good of a rate.  But if you are already with Direct TV and want to switch over for something like the triple play offer, then you are in luck.  Most of the deals are good for a twelve month period, but newer offers can lock in your price for two full years.  Let me explain how these offers work.

Usually when people sign up with cable, they do so because there is no contract commitment.  This is good for people who may be moving soon, or those who don’t want to sign up for two years to get one of the Direct TV promotions that require that kind of commitment.  But recently the cable company has made the two year agreement a part of their package pricing.

Generally, the offers are good for those who want the full compliment of services including cable television, high speed internet, and unlimited local and long distance calling.  If you bundle these together and agree to stay with TWC for two years, they give you a price lock for that period of time.  This is better than the traditional deal where you usually pay around $100 a month for when year then the price shoot up 50 or 60%.  There can be cancellation or termination fees if you can’t live up to your side of the contract, so be sure this is something that will work for your situation.
